Hurghada Luxor day trip:
With a population around 500,000 people, it is the largest city in Upper Egypt and the administrative capital of the Governorate of Al-Uqsur. The Nile divides the city into two parts. In the northeast of Luxor you find the famous Karnaktempel, which was the most important temple in ancient Egypt. Its huge columns, obelisks and statues impress with their size. Further south is the Luxor Museum, followed by the Luxor Temple. The Luxor Museum is home to recent finds from the area. The Luxor temple was built by Amenophis and Ramses and dedicated to Amun Ra, the king of the gods. On the other side of the Nile the temple of the famous Queen Hatshepsut is located, who stems from the 18th Dynasty and is considered the best preserved temple in Thebes. It belongs to Deir El-Beheri, which is on the west bank of the Nile. Not far from the Valley of the Kings, where Howard Carter found the almost intact tomb of Tutanchamun in 1922, are the impressive Colossi of Memnon located, which embody King Amenophis III. The Valley of the Kings is considered especially spectacular due to its tombs of famous kings from the New Kingdom. We were transported from Hurghada to Luxor with a small bus (up to 12 people), we were lucky there were only 4 of us. If you are English speaking and you are into detailed History, ask for Laila, she is very competent and fluent in english. We paid 80€ for the trip, if you want them for extra fee 10€ Nile boating and 20€ to see tutankhamn. Enjoy it.

We booked a two amazing trips from Hurghada. One to Cairo and one to Luxor and Aswan. Everything was just perfect. The communication, the transfers, the tour guides, the meals, the hotel stays. We were taken care of at all times. I don’t think I’ve ever been on a tour where there was such perfect coordination of everything. Thank you Hurghada Reisen for unforgettable days in Egypt.

I'd like to recommend Hurghada Reisen. I sent an inquiry by Hurghada Reisen website before our departure to Egypt and almost immediately Mahmoud contacted with me via Whatsapp. I booked our trip by sending passports photos and 100Є deposit via PayPal. When we arrived to Hurghada we met with one of Hurghada Reisen member at the lobby of our hotel, we paid the rest for the trip and he gave us an airplane tickets. The contact with the company was very easy and smooth for all the time. The trip to Cairo by plane was very well planned. Pick-up on time (3:15AM). When we arrived to Cairo (6:30AM), our guide was already waiting for us. She was fantastic and knowledgeable, with sense of humor. We could decide for ourselves if we wanted to stop for souvenirs and coffee, if we wanted to take a camel ride or short boat cruise (both activities optional for extra fee). We had planty of time for photos. In the morning we started with Khan El Khalili, than Cairo Museum, lunch, papyrus factory what was optional and Pyramids & Sphinx in the end. We came back to the hotel at 8:30PM. Many thanks for this lovely day to our bus drivers and guide. We booked Luxor by bus as well. The trip went well with some small issues. Our pick-up bus was late approx. 20 minutes an those 20 minutes matter when it's 4:15 in the morning :) Then we discovered that one of the drivers was sleeping in the back seat. The road trip to Luxor took about 5h with one stop after 2h. When we arrived we met our guide. She was very nice, told us a lot about all amazing monuments and gave us a lot of time for photos. We had an extra time for visiting Tutankhamun tomb what was optional. During the tour we found out that we needed an extra $10 pp for the boat transfer which we were not previously informed about. When it turned out that not all of tour participants had extra money, the price changed to $5. The day was very sunny and extremely hot so we were delighted when in the end of the tour our guide bought us chips and ice cream (sodium and glucose were just what we needed after sweating it all out so it kept us from feeling exhausted). Also we had plenty of cold water provided throughout the trip. We said goodbye to our Luxor tour guide and headed to the hotel. On the road we felt the rest of the crew pressuring us to leave tips, we received an envelope for tips and to be honest it wasn't very nice. For comparison, neither our drivers during Cairo tour nor our tour guides (for Luxor and Cairo) ever asked us for it and yet we were happy to tip them. Sorry to say that but here the effect was the opposite of what was intended. The lunch on both tours was good. Thanks to the cooks who couldn't taste the dishes because of Ramadan but still everything was tasty. Overall we really enjoyed both tours.
